  • 1.5 cups whole cumin seeds

  1. Cooling: Transfer the toasted cumin seeds to a large flat plate or baking sheet to cool completely. Cooling ensures that the cumin retains its flavor and prevents condensation during the grinding process.

  2. Grinding: Once the cumin seeds have cooled, transfer them to a spice grinder or a heavy-duty blender. Grind the cumin seeds into a fine powder. If the batch is too large, work in smaller batches for more consistent results.

  3. Mixing with Chili Powder: In a large mixing bowl, combine the freshly ground cumin powder with the chili powder. The chili powder can be adjusted to your preferred heat level, depending on how spicy you want the blend to be.
