You Will Need

  • 1 medium-sized head of cabbage, diced

  • 1 cup chicken broth

  • 2 long red and orange bell peppers, chopped

  • 1 tsp garlic salt

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 1/2 tsp pepper

  • 1 beef kielbasa, sliced and then cut into halves

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Cabbage Recipes

Prepare the Cabbage and Bell Peppers:

  1. Start by washing the cabbage and removing any outer leaves that are wilted or damaged.

  2. Cut the cabbage in half, remove the core, and then finely dice the cabbage into bite-sized pieces.

  3. Chop the red and orange bell peppers into small pieces.

  4. Sauté the Cabbage and Bell Peppers:

  5. Turn on your Instant Pot and select the "Sauté" function.

  6. Add the tablespoon of olive oil to the Instant Pot and let it heat up.

  7. Add the diced cabbage, chopped bell peppers, garlic salt, regular salt, and pepper to the Instant Pot.

  8. Sauté the vegetables for about 5-7 minutes, stirring frequently until they start to soften.

Pressure Cook:

  1. Pour in the chicken broth and stir to combine.

  2. Cancel the "Sauté" function on the Instant Pot.

  3. Close and lock the lid, ensuring the steam release valve is set to the sealing position.

  4. Select the "Pressure Cook" or "Manual" setting and set it to high pressure.

  5. Set the timer for 5 minutes.

  6. Prepare the Kielbasa:

  7. While the cabbage and bell peppers are pressure cooking, heat a separate skillet over medium-high heat.

  8. Add the sliced and halved kielbasa to the skillet.

  9. Fry the kielbasa until it becomes crispy and reaches your desired level of doneness, which usually takes about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Quick Release and Combine:

  1. When the pressure cooking cycle is complete, carefully perform a quick pressure release by turning the steam release valve to venting.

  2. Once the pressure has fully released, carefully open the Instant Pot lid.

  3. Combine and Serve:

  4. Transfer the crispy kielbasa to the Instant Pot with the sautéed cabbage and bell peppers.

  5. Stir everything together well to combine the flavors.

  6. Serve:
